Newtown Action Alliance Issues Statement on 3D Gun Court Ruling
The Newtown Action Alliance is praising a federal judge for blocking the distribution of 3D-printed gun blueprints.

NEWTOWN, CT — The Newtown Action Alliance has joined with two other anti-gun violence groups in releasing a statement regarding a federal judge's block on the distribution of 3D-printed gun blueprints.
Newtown Action Alliance, #NoRA, and Orange Ribbons for Jaime released the following joint statement after U.S. District Court Judge Robert Lasnik issued a preliminary injunction requiring the State Department to block the distribution of downloadable blueprints for 3D-printed guns until the matter is resolved in court:
“We thank Judge Lasnik for issuing this important order. As he noted, these guns will result in irreparable harm in our streets, schools, places of business, and our homes. There is no need for anyone around the globe to produce an untraceable - and sometimes undetectable - firearm, circumventing background checks and other important state and federal gun regulations.

"We are grateful to the Attorneys General who joined this lawsuit, and to the lawmakers who have introduced federal legislation to permanently protect us from these deadly weapons. We call on all lawmakers to support these common-sense laws introduced in the House by Representatives Cicilline, Moulten, Deutchand the Senate by Senators Nelson, Blumenthal, Markey, Menendez and Schumer.
"It is now the responsibility of President Trump, Secretary Pompeo, and Attorney General Sessions to enforce this court-ordered prohibition. They are legally mandated to do so and the safety of the American people demands that they comply.”
