Newtown Action Alliance Urges Senate to Reject Kavanaugh

The group calls Trump's pick for the Supreme Court "the most extreme Second Amendment Supreme Court nominee in modern history."

NEWTOWN, CT — The Newtown Action Alliance has issued an open letter to members of the U.S. Senate urging them not to confirm Judge Brett Kavanaugh, President Donald Trump's pick for the U.S. Supreme Court.

Calling Kavanaugh "the most extreme Second Amendment Supreme Court nominee in modern history," the letter is signed by over 200 "families and survivors who have been directly impacted by gun violence from cities and towns across this nation."

If Kavanaugh is confirmed, "gun deaths and injuries will escalate more rapidly in America and all parents will fear sending their children out into the streets, schools, movies, malls, concerts, places of worship and other public places," the letter warns.
