Newtown Budget Approved by Voters
Both the municipal side of the budget and the school side passed.
Newtown voters approved a $111.7 million budget on Tuesday, the News Times reports.
According to the paper both the town side of the budget that stood at $40.1 million and the school side that stood at $71.6 million was approved by voters.
The budget carries a mill rate of 33.07.

Overall, the tax rate decreased even though there is an increase in spending, the paper reports.
