Newtown Businessman Running for 5th Congressional District Seat

Newtown businessman Bill Stevens announced he will run for the 5th congressional district seat.

Stevens said the current batch of candidates for the seat could use a more conservative voice, according to the CT Mirror.

Stevens drew national attention when he gave passionate testimony about gun rights at a public hearing held at the state capitol. He told legislators during his roughly three-minute speech that, “...you will take my ability to protect my Victoria [daughter] from my cold, dead hands.”

The 5th district seat is currently occupied by Elizabeth Esty.
