NEWTOWN, CT — The 2019 municipal election is heating up in Newtown and there are plenty of races with candidates eager to serve in elected office.
Newtown Patch asked candidates to answer questions about their campaigns and will be publishing candidate profiles as election day draws near.
Corinne Cox is running for the Planning and Zoning Commission as a Democrat. She is a retired special education teacher and currently teaches dyslexic students. She is a current member of the commission.

Keeping our schools open and safe, insure that future construction follows local and state zoning laws, listen to the public for future recommendations on projects and try to maintain the rural nature of Newtown.
What accomplishments in your past would you cite as evidence you can handle this job?
Planning and Zoning for the past three half years. Trustee of Cullens Youth Association, Secretary to Danbury Central Labor Council and Chairperson of Christian Education. Prior Director of Special Olympics for Newtown, prior Camp Director for Boy Scouts of America.

What else would you like voters to know about yourself and your positions?
I raised my two sons in Newtown , I love the town and want to see it grow , but maintain its character.
