NEWTOWN, CT — The 2019 municipal election is heating up in Newtown and there are plenty of races with candidates eager to serve in elected office.
Newtown Patch asked candidates to answer questions about their campaigns and will be publishing candidate profiles as election day draws near.
David Rosen is running for the Planning and Zoning Commission as an alternate under the Democratic Party. He works in the pharmaceuticals marketing sciences field. He was elected as an alternate in 2017.

What are the critical differences between you and the other candidates
seeking this post?
This is best achieved by allowing development that reduces resident tax burden while as much as possible preserving the character of Newtown. This means limiting the conversion of
residential to business zones while allowing effective use of business zones to increases commerce in the community.
This also means making sure our existing regulations are adhered to or appropriately changed to ensure that development does not significantly alter the environment of the town.
What accomplishments in your past would you cite as evidence you can handle this job?
Was voting member on numerous approvals and denials of proposals over the past two years. Served the role honestly, balancing the interests of the town, the residents and the developers.

What else would you like voters to know about yourself and your positions?
I have been a resident of Newtown for 15 years and care deeply about the condition and progress of the town and the quality of life for its residents.
