The single most pressing issue facing our town/district is _______, and

The single most pressing issue is the state governments general lack of
organization and focus. Thankfully in Newtown we have a great state
representatives Mitch, JP and Tony. They have gone to bat for Newtown on
several occasions and will continue to.

What are the critical differences between you and the other candidates
seeking this post?

Like many of my fellow slate mates I am focused on keeping spending
controlled and ensuring that our family, friends and neighbors are not
squeezed out by increasing taxes.

If you are a challenger, in what way has the current board or officeholder
failed the community (or district or constituency)?

While the Board of Finance is advisory, there needs to be a better job done
to hold departments accountable for the spending. The recent addition of the
purchasing agent is a step in the right direction but more needs to be done
to hold the BOE accountable.

What accomplishments in your past would you cite as evidence you can handle
this job?

My day to day work in banking will make me a valuable person to have on the
Board of Finance.

The best advice ever shared with me was ...

Don't get stuck focusing on the details and miss the big picture.

What else would you like voters to know about yourself and your
positions?

I believe in serve to your community and helping in any way possible. As
well as my appointed positions I serve on the board of Pomperaug Woods in
Southbury, a business advisor for SCORE, the co-chair of the 2019 United Way
Pledge Campaign and my wife and I co-own Floral Design by Melissa LLC. I have
also attained the rank of Eagle Scout in the Boy Scouts.
