Newtown Community Center Phase I Information Session

An informational meeting for residents on the proposed community center in Newtown will be held March 24 at 7 p.m. in the Municipal Center/ Council Chambers located at 3 Primrose Street.

The town plans to build the center with a $15 million gift from Fairfield-based General Electric, the News Times reports. The center would feature a two-pool aquatic center and rooms for senior activities and recreation.

The project will go to residents for referendum on April 28.

At the meeting, residents will be able to meet the design and construction team for this project as well as share their input and vision for the new center.
