Newtown Dental Practice Exchanges Candy for Cash
Dental Associates of Connecticut in Newtown recently gave youths cash for their Halloween candy.

Something sweet happened recently at Dental Associates of Connecticut in Newtown.
Kids learned that helping others has its own rewards. Adults got to feel like kids again and the whole community came just a little closer together.
It was all part of Dental Associates of Connecticut’s annual Halloween Candy Buy Back that took place on November 4th. Kids came ready to exchange their bags, sacks, and pumpkins filled with Holiday candy for cash.

“We look forward to this event every year. It is so much fun seeing the kids and it all helps spread the word about good dental care.”, says Stacey Voight, spokesperson for Dental Associates of Connecticut.
This years candy collection totals were pretty impressive. The Dental Associates office in Newtown collected 223 pounds of candy handing out $2.00 per pound, or $446 to the children. In all, the four Dental Associates of Connecticut offices handed out $1,736 for 868 pounds of candy collected. Over the 12 years that Dental Associates has been offering the Candy Buy Back program, almost 5 tons of candy has been collected.

Where does all that candy go you might wonder? The candy, along with dental care packages gets donated to our troops overseas through Operation Gratitude, and to Give The Kids The World organization.
