The single biggest issue in town is ______, and I plan to do this about it:
Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. I intend to work collaboratively with the Legislative Council, as well as the members of the Board of Education and the Board of Finance, to develop an integrated strategy, implementation framework, and action plan to achieve the goal of having an inclusive community which actualized its ideals around kindness.
Critical differences between me and my opponents:
I have lived in town for 25 years and am committed to using my skills in the areas of research, collaboration, and strategic planning to move our community into the future. I use a balanced approach when making decisions which is grounded in data and science.
Accomplishments:
I am a founding administrator and the current Chief Academic Officer of Booker T. Washington Academy in New Haven. I am used to hard work and am adept at managing multiple and complex initiatives at once. I hold a doctorate in instructional leadership as well.
Other issues:
Strategic planning Pro-education mindset Inclusive community for all Proactive leadership Collaboration across multiple boards Use of data to guide decision-making Economic development Balanced decision-making
What else would you like voters to know about you?
I am open-minded and reflective and will always keep the voters in mind as I make decisions. I am committed to leaving Newtown better than I found it and will work collaboratively to achieve that outcome.
