UPDATE: New Winners Announced in Newtown Election Results 2018
Many races statewide were too close to call, or plagued by voting machine problems, on Tuesday night.

NEWTOWN, CT —Republican State Rep. Mitch Bolinsky defeated Democratic challenger Rebekah Harriman-Stites to score a fourth term representing the town in the state House of Representatives, according to the latest unoffical results. The race was one of several statewide that were impossible to call, due to their closeness, voting machine problems, or, as in this case, wet ballots, until Wednesday morning.
In the 28th Senate District, the race between incumbent Republican Tony Hwang and Democratic challenger Michelle Lapine McCabe was too close to call Tuesday night, but according to unofficial vote totals from the Secretary of State, Hwang received 23,973 votes (49.64 percent) to McCabe’s 22,445 (46.48 percent).
Democratic challenger Raghib Allie-Brenn upset Republican incumbent Will Duff for the state House District 2. The district includes Bethel, Redding, Newtown and Danbury. The contest was a rematch: Duff narrowly defeated Allie- Brennan for the same position in 2016.
