Newtown Golf Player Tops SWC Honors, Team Takes 2nd Place

Newtown's Kevin O'Connell shot a 75 -- the best individual result -- at the South-West Conference Championships held Friday at the Ridgewood Country Club in Danbury.

But that was only enough to propel Newtown to second place in the team championships with a combined score of 340. Joel Barlow, which took first place, shot a 326.

Weston was third with a score of 341, followed by Pomperaug, New Milford, Immaculate, Masuk and Brookfield.

Individually, Newtown's Chris McCann shot a 84, Paul Michaud, a 89 and Zach Dlouhy, a 92.
