Newtown Grads Earn $225,000 in Scholarships

The Newtown Scholarship Association, Inc. is pleased to announce its 2012 High School graduate awards.

The Newtown Scholarship Association, Inc. is pleased to announce its 2012 High School graduate awards.

A total of 18 awards for $ 41,000.00 have been awarded this year. NSA, founded in 1937, has awarded more than 3 million in need based scholarships to thousands of Newtown students.

Awards are made possible by the generous contributions received from Newtown residents and businesses. Stephanie Gaston, Chairperson of the Awards Committee, said,  "We are so excited to be celebrating our 75th anniversary this year and are grateful for all of the generous support we receive from Newtown residents and businesses. We wouldn't be able to do any of this without them."

Gaston added that this year the total amount of scholarships that will be awarded, including high school graduates and continuing aid, will be around 75 to 80 awards for $225,000.00.
