Newtown High School Ranked Among Top 25 In CT: U.S. News
U.S. News and World Report this week released its annual ranking of public high schools, which evaluates schools based on various criteria.
NEWTOWN, CT — Newtown High School in Newtown is the 24th best public school in Connecticut, according to U.S. News and World Report's 2022 annual ranking of the top schools in the state and the nation.
Nationally, Newtown High School was ranked 1,187th. The publication's list of the country's best high schools evaluated more than 17,800 schools nationwide, including 165 in Connecticut.

The 2022 ranking of the best high schools is designed to show how well the nation's public schools serve all students, regardless of achievement level, by teaching them basic skills and preparing them for college-level work, according to U.S. News and World Report.
Families can also use the rankings to see how schools compare at the national, state and local levels on factors such as graduation rates and college readiness, among others.

No Connecticut school cracked U.S. News' Top 100, but Darien High School, the report's top public high school in the state, made it to No. 191 nationally.
