Newtown Man Charged With Animal Cruelty In Death Of Dog
Staff at a veterinarian's office informed police that a dog had been brought to them dead as a result of trauma.
NEWTOWN, CT — Police have charged a Newtown man in the death of a dog.
On Monday at approximately 5:00 p.m., officers from the Newtown Police Department and Animal Control responded to a call from Berkshire Veterinary Hospital at 1 Toddy Road. Staff there informed police that a dog had been brought to them dead as a result of trauma, according to police.
Following an investigation, police charged David Czerniawski, 71, with cruelty to animals. Czerniawski was released on a $1,500 bond and scheduled to appear at Danbury Superior Court on Aug. 9.
