Newtown Nonprofit Awarded $136k Grant

SANDY HOOK, CT — A local nonprofit has been awarded a grant from the Governor's office for capital improvement projects. The Newtown Youth & Family Services, Inc. was awarded $136,633 for an energy efficiency project.

“By supporting capital purchases that enhance service delivery, efficiency, and effectiveness, and address health, safety and accessibility issues, this grant program assists nonprofit agencies in focusing on what they do best – getting services to those who need them most,” Governor Dannel Malloy said.

The grant was a part of $15.1 million awarded to 50 nonprofit organizations statewide. The grants assist organizations with one-time infrastructure improvements that upgrade the services offered by the organizations.

This is the fifth round of grants.
