Newtown Odyssey of the Mind Team is Raising Funds to go to the World Competition
The team won first place in their division at the state competition and is now asking for financial help for their next competition.

NEWTOWN, CT — The Newtown Connecticut Odyssey team is asking for community support to help send them to the world championship in Iowa.
The team won first place in their division at the state competition in early April, and is now asking for financial help to cover the cost of plane tickets, competition, entrance and travel fees associated with going to the world competition this May. The competition entrance fee is $3,000.

The team was given a long-term problem to solve at the beginning of the year and came up with a creative solution that will eventually become a skit. Following hundreds of guidelines, the team makes costumes, scripts, set pieces, and technical devices to work with their solution, according to their Go Fund Me page.
"We would be so grateful to you if you donated. We have been hoping to win this competition for over three years. Now that we have, going to the world finals would be so incredible and something we would remember forever. We hope that you would consider donating. Even $10 would help," the team said on their fundraising page.
To date the team has raised $1,100 of their $6,000 goal. Click here to donate.
