Newtown Offers Citizens' Police Academy

NEWTOWN, CT — The police department has announced it will be hosting its 25th Citizen Police Academy beginning in March.

The Academy is a 10-week program for the resident of Newtown and surrounding towns designed to teach people about the various aspects of law enforcement as it pertains to this area. Classes will be held on Sundays from approximately 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. and are taught by Newtown Police Officers and other local members in the law enforcement field.

The program begins March 24, and the registration deadline is March 13. Participants must be 18 years of age or older.
