Newtown Officials Make Final Decision to Tear Down Sandy Hook Shooter Home

The final decision was made at a Tuesday meeting.

Officials reached the final official decision to tear down the former house of Sandy Hook shooter Adam Lanza.

Few attended a town meeting Tuesday when the decision was made, according to WTNH.

A local construction company volunteered to tear down the house. Work will likely start in the Spring.

The home was given to the town by a bank. The plan is to tear down the home and leave the rest as open space. Any future sale proceeds would go to the family’s of the victims.

The deadly rampage started at the home located at 36 Yogananda St. when Adam Lanza shot and killed his mother Nancy Lanza. He killed 20 children and six adults at Sandy Hook Elementary School.
