Newtown Police Blotter: Feb. 4-13
Arrests, crash investigations and other incidents from Newtown Police.

NEWTOWN, CT — Police investigated several accidents, made a couple of arrests and received two lost necklaces in the past couple of weeks. Below are some of the notable incidents.
Lost necklaces
- Two necklaces were found on Feb. 9 in the parking lot of 5 Queen St. in Newtown. They are yellow necklaces and one has a white stone surrounded by metal while the other has a red stone surrounded by multiple white stones. The owner can contact police at 203+-426-5841.

- A Toyota Tacoma exited the roadway and went into an embankment on Feb. 13 on Berkshire Road near Old Mill Road. The driver was taken to the hospital for evaluation. The crash remains under investigation.
- A single-vehicle crash on Hattertown Road left two people injured Feb. 4. The driver of a Subaru Outback lost control and struck a mailbox. The Subaru then went airborne and struck a tree. IT landed in a driveway and struck another tree. Both occupants were sent to the hospital for treatment of injuries. The crash remains under investigation.
- Three vehicles were involved in a crash on Church Hill Road Feb. 6. The driver of a Chevrolet Express G2500 rear-ended another vehicle, which then rear-ended another vehicle, police said. One operator complained of dizziness and was evaluated by EMS. The Chevrolet Express driver was issued an infraction for traveling an unreasonable distance apart.
Arrests
- Andrew Ellis, 24, of Middlebury was charged with DUI and failure to drive upon right on Feb. 5 after a motor vehicle stop on Berkshire Road.
- Peter Mancini, 19, of Danbury was charged with second-degree harassment after he turned himself in on an active warrant Feb. 7. The incident dates back to November, police said.
