NEWTOWN, CT — Below are Newtown Police blotter items from Sept. 18 to 24.

Crashes

A rear-end crash occurred at Mile Hill Road at South Main Street Sept. 24. No injuries were reported and the offending operator was issued a written warning for following too closely.

A rear-end crash occurred on Commerce Road Sept. 18 when a vehicle stopped to let a pedestrian cross a walkway. There were no reported injuries.

A two-vehicle crash occurred on Huntingtown Road near Orchard Hill Road Sept. 19. Two operators were transported to the hospital and the crash remains under investigation.

A car crashed into a utility pole on Swamp Road Sept. 20. The operator was transported to the hospital for evaluation and was issued a ticket for improper turn.

Arrests

  • William Trueheart, 36, of Torrington was arrested on an active warrant related to an incident five years ago when he was accused of leaving a crash scene while driving with a suspended license, according to police. He was charged with evading responsibility and operating under suspension. He was released on a promise to appear.
  • Samantha Perry, 29, of Stratford was charged with second-degree harassment and threatening Sept. 21 after she sent messages to an ex-partner, according to police. She was released on a promise to appear.
  • Several DUI arrests were also made.

Lost Item

An Apple iPad was found in the area of 17 Main Street and turned in at police headquarters.
