Newtown Police Charge Danbury Residents With Art Theft
Police say two suspects was given house keys and an alarm code by a petsitter while the homeowners were on vacation.

NEWTOWN, CT — Detectives have arrested two Danbury residents who stole $50,000 in artwork, according to police.
The arrests came after investigation into artwork stolen from a residence on Currituck Road while the homeowners were out of town in June. Police say that Danbury residents Brooke Vazzano, 27, and Cody Delmedico, 26, were given house keys and an alarm code by the homeowner's petsitter, a relative.
Vazzano and Delmedico turned themselves in on Friday morning, on outstanding warrants. The couple was charged with third-degree burglary and first-degree larceny. Both were released after posting $50,000 bonds.

"The detectives did an outstanding job putting this case together including working with the victim to recover the stolen artwork and to obtain confessions from the suspects," said Lt. Aaron Bahamonde of the Newtown PD.
Most of the artwork has been recovered, according to the police report.
