Newtown Police Charge Man With DUI While Driving A Minor

NEWTOWN, CT — A 48-year-old Bridgeport man was arrested Wednesday after turning himself in at Newtown Police HQ for driving under the influence with a minor in the car.

The arrest followed an active warrant related to a case that occurred and was investigated in February 2023.

In addition to being charged DUI with a passenger under 18 years of age, the motorist was accused of failed to drive in the proper lane and traveling too fast for the conditions. After posting 7 percent of a $3,000 court bond, he was scheduled to appear on April 11 at Danbury Superior Court.
