Newtown Police ID Woman Whose Remains Were Found In Woods

NEWTOWN, CT — Police have identified the woman whose remains were found in the woods near Edmond Road on Oct. 13.

The deceased has been identified as Janet Connor, 73. Police say there is no reason to believe that her death was suspicious.

Connor's last known residence was in Southbury, but police believe she was a transient at the time of her death, according to a news release.

"We offer our sincere condolences to Mrs. Connor's family," police said.
