Newtown Police Torch Run Friday: Expect Traffic Delays

NEWTOWN, CT — The police are warning residents to expect traffic delays on Friday as the annual Connecticut Law Enforcement Torch Run in support of Special Olympics Connecticut races through town.

According to SOCT, Newtown law enforcement cops will be getting the hand-off from their Bethel colleagues at around at 11:32 a.m. Runners will continue along Route 302 and onto Glover Avenue before turning left onto Queen Street at about 12:28 p.m. The officers will turn right onto Route 6/Church Hill Road) at 12:30 p.m., then right again into Blue Colony Diner, where they will hand off the torch to a state trooper around 12:38 p.m.
