Newtown Resident Wins $50,000 CT Scratch-Off Lottery Game
The winning ticket was purchased in Monroe, according to the Connecticut Lottery.
NEWTOWN, CT — A Newtown resident is $50,000 richer this week after claiming a winning lottery ticket he purchased in Monroe, the Connecticut Lottery announced.
On Wednesday, Christopher Golias claimed a winning 5X the Money 14th Edition ticket he purchased at the Stop & Go Food Mart on Main Street.
The game, which costs $5 per ticket, began in April, and as of Wednesday, three grand prizes of $50,000 remained unclaimed.

More than 5.1 million tickets have been printed, and the overall odds of winning are 1 in 3.63.
