Newtown Resident Wins CT Scratch-Off Lottery Prize

The lucky winner bought the ticket in Danbury, according to the Connecticut Lottery.

NEWTOWN, CT — A Newtown resident is $10,000 richer this week after claiming a winning lottery ticket he purchased in Danbury, the Connecticut Lottery announced.

On Monday, Lance Galassi claimed a winning "10X Cash 15th Edition" ticket he purchased at the J&R Newtown Road gas station at 101 Newtown Road.

The game, which costs $10 per ticket, began in May 2021, and as of Tuesday, 37 grand prizes of $10,000 remained unclaimed.

More than 5.2 million game tickets have been printed, and the overall odds of winning are 1 in 3.95.
