Newtown Restaurant Returns Weeks After Devastating Fire

NEWTOWN, CT — Just a month after a fire destroyed jjStacks' recently opened Newtown restaurant, the business is back serving customers while it plans to rebuild.

jjStacks announced this week that it has partnered with Woodbury Brewing Company and will serve food at the brewery five days a week.

"We are proud to announce our newest relationship!" the business wrote in a social media post announcing the partnership.

The arrangement comes about a month after an Aug. 2 fire destroyed jjStacks' brick-and-mortar restaurant at 71 South Main St. in Newtown.

The restaurant had only opened in April after jjStacks built a following as a food truck.

Owner Joe Attonito said following the fire that the restaurant was "completely lost" and would need to be rebuilt from the ground up. No one was injured because the fire broke out early Sunday morning before the restaurant opened for business.

Despite the damage, Attonito immediately vowed jjStacks would return.

"Like a Phoenix rising from the ashes we will be back," he wrote following the fire.

While plans to rebuild the Newtown location move forward, customers can now find jjStacks at Woodbury Brewing Company five days a week. The brewery hosts regular events and live entertainment, including trivia, open mic nights and live music.
