Newtown Seeks To Fill Vacancies On Town Boards, Commissions

Three Newtown commissions and one board have vacancies, according to First Selectman Dan Rosenthal.

NEWTOWN, CT — Newtown is looking to fill a total of six vacancies on three town commissions and one board, First Selectman Dan Rosenthal announced Monday.

The Board of Ethics has two alternate vacancies, one that can go to a registered Republican, and one that can go to a registered Democrat. Additionally, registered unaffiliated voters are also eligible for either vacancy.

On the Commission on Aging, two alternate vacancies are available, and both are open to a Democrat or unaffiliated voter.

The Sustainable Energy Commission has an open position, which is available to any registered voter.

Finally, the Inland Wetlands Commission also has a vacancy available to a Democrat or unaffiliated voter.

Resumes for all the positions are due by Jan. 31, and interested residents can email them, with a cover letter, to susan.marcinek@newtown-ct.gov.
