Newtown Seeks Residents To Fill Openings On Boards And Commissions
The Fair Rent Commission, the Commission on Aging, and the new Town Building & Infrastructure Committee all need a little help.
NEWTOWN, CT — First Selectman Capeci is seeking residents to volunteer to fill vacancies on the following boards and commissions:
There is a vacancy on the Fair Rent Commission available to a Republican or unaffiliated voter. The last day to apply is June 28, 2024.
There is an alternate vacancy on the Commission on Aging available to a Democrat or unaffiliated voter. The last day to apply is July 3, 2024.

There are seats to fill on the Town Building & Infrastructure Committee. This is a new committee that has evolved from the Town Building Inventory and Planning Working Group and will provide expertise, guidance and review regarding town buildings data and information infrastructure. This committee will be made up of Republican, Democrat and unaffiliated voters.
Specific expertise needed includes:- Engineering or construction knowledge and experience with building mechanical, electrical, or structural systems.
- IT knowledge and experience such as data management (data architects, database administrators, and data analysts), business analysis, systems engineering, or document management. Large scale project management experience. The last day to apply is July 31, 2024.
