Newtown Spending Last of Sandy Hook Donations
More than $1 million in donations came into the town after the 2012 school shooting.

The town is getting down to the final dollars of about $1 million in donations that came in to town hall after the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting in 2012.
The last $17,500 will be given to a parent group that supports the high school marching band, according to the Connecticut Post. The move must be approved by the board of finance.
The final dollars were in an account for donations that came through without specific spending instructions.
