Newtown State Senator Hwang Hosting Opiate Addiction Panel

A panel of experts and local officials will discuss and answer questions related to Connecticut's opiate addiction epidemic.

Area legislators will host a community discussion on the state’s opiate addiction crisis.

State Reps. Brenda Kupchick (R-132), Laura Devlin (R-134), Dave Rutigliano (R-123), Ben McGorty (R-122), Cristin McCarthy-Vahey (D-133) with State Senators Tony Hwang (R-28) and Marilyn Moore (D-22) will host the dicussion at Sacred Heart University on Jan. 11.

Trumbull and Fairfield first selectmen Tim Herbst and Mike Tetreau along with Trumbull and Fairfield police chiefs Michael Lombardo and Gary MacNamara, Trumbull EMS Chief Joseph Laucella, HeroinKillCT and Connecticut Heroin Task Force co-founder Theresa Doonan and Connecticut Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services Commissioner Miriam Delphin-Rittmon will be on the panel.
