Newtown Still in Top 10 of Latest Wrestling Poll
Earlier in the week, a Nighthawk grappler was announced as the state's high school athlete of the year by a panel of sports media.

NEWTOWN, CT — For the seventh straight week, Danbury High School swept the first-place votes in the weekly Connecticut poll of wrestling coaches.
The Hatters were the top choice of all 16 coaches who voted this week.
Newtown placed seventh in the most recent rankings, but earlier in the week, senior Anthony Falbo was announced as the Hal Levy Male High School Athlete of the Year by the Connecticut Sports Writers' Alliance.

- Southington
- Trumbull

- Ledyard
- Fairfield Warde

Also receiving votes: Windham, Foran, Montville, Platt, Middletown, Daniel Hand, Shelton, Guilford, Killingly, Haddam-Killingworth, East Haven.
