Newtown Tears Down Fairfield Hills Building

Another building on the property has been demolished to make away for a planned civic and cultural center.

NEWTOWN, CT — The town as demolished the former Fairfield Hills Canaan House building.

The 1930's red brick building was torn down and replaced with a green field. It couldn't be reused because of hazardous materials and a configuration that included many smaller rooms, according to the News-Times.
It's the 15th building on the 185-acre property to be demolished.

Plans call for a civic and cultural center once demolition and renovations are complete.
