Newtown Woman Accused Of Cruelty To Animals: Police
The suspect was arrested on a warrant this week, according to Newtown police.

NEWTOWN, CT — A 57-year-old Newtown woman was arrested on a warrant by Newtown police this week on a felony charge of cruelty to animals, the department announced.
Susan Marucci surrendered to police Tuesday in connection with the case, which authorities said occurred on South Main Street in Newtown on an afternoon in late November 2022.
Details of the incident were not disclosed, but the charge of cruelty to animals is described as "overdriving, overloading, overworking, torturing, depriving of substance, mutilating, cruelly beating or killing, or unjustifiably injuring any animal."

Marucci was released after posting bond on bail of $5,000, and she is scheduled to appear in Danbury Superior Court on June 20.
