Newtown's Llodra Re-Thinks Run for 5th Congressional Seat

NEWTOWN, CT --- Former First Selectman Pat Llodra will not come out of retirement and run for the 5th Congressional District seat after all.

Llodra, a Republican, had indicated earlier this month that she was interested in filling the seat set to be vacated by U.S. Rep. Elizabeth Esty.

Llodra led Newtown through the events of the mass shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School in 2012, and also oversaw the new Sandy Hook Elementary School opening. She announced her retirement in May 2017.
