Newtown's Memorial Day Observance Returns This Weekend: What To Know
Here's how Newtown residents can honor military personnel who died serving the country.
NEWTOWN, CT — The American Legion Post 202 will hold its annual Memorial Day observance in Newtown on Saturday, May 23, to honor fallen American military members.
The event will begin at 5 p.m. at the intersection of Main Street at Schoolhouse and Hanover roads.
Organizers said they will move the event to the Edmond Town Hall theater at 45 Main Street if there is inclement weather.

A Newtown High School student will start the ceremony by playing "Taps," followed by musical performances and remarks from local officials.
Poppies will be given out, and luminaries are available for a $5 donation to American Legion programs.
