Newtown's Weekend Weather Forecast Includes Chance of Showers, Thunderstorms

One of the weekend days is shaping up to be an almost perfect spring day.

We could wish that today’s forecast is what we’d end up with for Saturday.

Before we get to the weekend though, we’re looking at a picture perfect weather day on Thursday with sunny skies and temps in the high 60s to 70 degrees.

Friday is even slightly better with sunny skies and temps around 70 degrees.

Saturday is definitely the worse of the two days as showers and thunderstorms are possible early in the morning, and then it will be mostly cloudy for the remainder of the day.

But the sun reappears on Sunday, and a gorgeous weather day is forecast with high temperatures approaching the mid 70s.

Here is Newtown’s latest hyperlocal forecast from the National Weather Service:

  • This Afternoon: Sunny, with a high near 67. Northwest wind 7 to 9 mph.
  • Tonight: Mostly clear, with a low around 39. Southwest wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the evening.
  • Friday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 72. Calm wind becoming southwest 5 to 9 mph in the afternoon.
  • Friday Night: A chance of showers between midnight and 3am, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms after 3am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 52. South wind 5 to 8 mph. Chance of precipitation is 50%.
  • Saturday: A chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly before noon. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 78. Southwest wind 7 to 9 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40%.
  • Saturday Night: A chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly before midnight. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 57. Chance of precipitation is 40%.
  • Sunday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 76.
  • Sunday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 54.
