NHS Lax Players Participate in Post-Season Games
McNamara is named a Super Junior and Nacewicz, Summerlin and Thompson Senior All-Stars
Newtown High School boys lacrosse players participated in several post-season events recently where they were honored for their performance.
Junior midfielder Brendan McNmamara successfully navigated a strenuous two-day tryout process to be named as one of Connecitcut's "Super Juniors." The speedy McNamara took face-off's and scored two goals in the 2011 Super Junior Game played Sunday at Yale University's Reese Stadium.
Five soon-to-be Newtown High School graduates were recognized as Connecticut High School Coaches Association Senior All-Stars, and three of them participated in the Senior All-Star Game Monday night at Sheehan High School in Wallingford.

Attackman Lewis Thompson, who will head to Wittenberg University, scored two goals for the West team. Max Nacewicz (Springfield College) anchored the West defense, and midfielder Colby Summerlin (Eastern Connecticut State University) provided ample support between the restraining lines.
Goalie Brandon Body (Western New England College) and midfielder Will Northrop (Gettysburg College) also were named to the All-Star team but were unable to participate due to prior commitments.
