NY Jets Names Newtown Coach Steve George as Coach of the Week
Steve George and his high school football team are being honored with $2,000 from the NY Jets/Chase Bank award.
The New York Jets announced on their website that Newtown High School Coach Steve George has been named this week’s recipient of the New York Jets High School Coach of the Week Award, presented by Chase.
The $2,000 monetary award will benefit the school’s football program. Coach George will be given a certificate and award ball. He will also get to watch the Jets-Patriots game on Dec. 21 in Chase’s private suite at MetLife Stadium.
The New York Jets High School Coach of the Week Award is given to coaches in the tri-state area who, according to their website, “serve the best interests of the game through the teaching of sound football fundamentals, the motivation of young players to achieve, and the promotion of youth football by way of dedication to their communities, their schools and their student-athletes.”
