Obituary: Barbara M. Ruggiero, 75, Of Sandy Hook

NEWTOWN, CT — Barbara M. Ruggiero, 75, of Sandy Hook, formerly of Danbury, wife of Salvatore A. Ruggiero, died on Sunday, Dec. 11, 2022, at her home.

Mrs. Ruggiero was born in New York, NY, the daughter of the late John and Helen (Kertez) Palazzolo. She attended New York schools.

In addition to her husband of fifty-six years, she is survived by three sons, Anthony Ruggiero and his wife Jennifer, Salvatore Ruggiero and his wife Leslie and Michael Ruggiero and his wife Denise, five grandchildren, Alexa, Jake, Luke, Kyle, and Carter.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Ruggiero was predeceased by a brother Anthony Palazzolo.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, Dec. 15, 2022, at 10:30 a.m. in St. Peter Church, 121 Main St., Danbury.

The interment will be private.

The family will receive friends in the Jowdy-Kane Funeral Home, 9 Granville Ave., Danbury on Wednesday from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m..
