Obituary: Charlie Muehlfeld, 65, Of Newtown

Charlie was always the first to offer help when anyone was in need, and somehow always knew how to fix the things that were broken.

NEWTOWN, CT — Charles, better known as Charlie, beloved husband, father and grandfather, passed away unexpectedly at home on Aug. 15, 2023.

Charlie was born on Dec. 20, 1957 in Danbury Connecticut to Edward and Laura Muehlfeld. Charlie is survived by the love of his life Patty Cahill, loving sons Paul Muehlfeld (Dana), Chris Muehlfeld and Cody Cahill (Caitlin) and his precious granddaughter Emma.

Charlie graduated from Danbury High School, he then entered into the United States Marine Corps and then after enjoyed a long career at Siemens located in Brookfield. It wasn't until Charlie entered into retirement that he received his favorite title, Grandpa Charlie. Charlie spent most of his recent days with his granddaughter, Emma. Emma and Charlie were inseparable, they shared a bond many can only imagine, his legacy will certainly live on through her.

Charlie was loved by all who knew him. He was always the first to offer help when anyone was in need, and somehow always knew how to fix the things that were broken. The world has lost a kind and gentle soul, but he will always be remembered for his selfless love and dedication to helping others.

Family and friends may visit Saturday, Aug. 26, 2023 at Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main Street, Newtown, CT 06470 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to Toys for Tots. Charlie was an avid supporter of Toys for Tots. Every Christmas he ran a toy drive to ensure all local veterans and children had something fun to wake up to Christmas morning, please donate in Charlie's name.
