Obituary: Daniel Jacob Thiel, 38, of Sandy Hook

In his free time, Daniel enjoyed motorcycles and cars but most of all the adventures and friends he made along the way.

NEWTOWN, CT -- Daniel Jacob Thiel, 38, of Sandy Hook, passed away on June 29, 2018 in Westchester County. Daniel was born on January 2, 1980 in New Milford to the late Elaine (Jacobsen) and Dieter O. Thiel.

Blessed with the biggest heart, Daniel was a loving person that gave of himself to many around him. He was highly loyal and family oriented and invested in his church. He loved animals, especially senior dogs. In his free time, he enjoyed motorcycles and cars but most of all the adventures and friends he made along the way.

Daniel is survived by his sister Kirsten Trevino (Eddie) and brother Joshua Thiel (Amy) both of Nassau, NY and his nephew and niece Noah Thiel and Aidan Thiel, as well as his girlfriend Nicole Struth.

A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held on Friday July 6, 2018 at Danbury Memorial Funeral Home (117 South St, Danbury) from 5 to 8 p.m. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday July 7, 2018 at Walnut Hill Church (274 Bunker Hill Ave, Waterbury) at 11 a.m.
