Obituary: Elenore House, 87, of Newtown

NEWTOWN, CT — Elenore House, 87, of Newtown, passed away at her home on Friday, December 21st. She was born in Norwalk November 8, 1931 a daughter of the late Paul and Elizabeth Wold and wife of the late Edward House.

Elenore spent her early childhood in Germany and Norway returning to the states at age 7. She grew up in Weston/Westport area and graduated from Staples HS in 1950.

Elenore spent her married life in Newtown as a homemaker who loved to cook, gardening and going to tag sales every weekend.

She leaves behind her son David House and wife Leslie of Middlebury and daughter Pamela House of Sandy Hook. Elenore cherished her 3 grandchildren, Christopher House, Rebecca House and Patrick House who sadly predeceased her. She is also survived by a sister, Margaret Art of Holmes Beach, FL as well as her nieces and nephews. A brother William Wold predeceased her.

Box 344, Newtown, CT 06470 or Roses for Autism, Pinchbeck Rose Farm, 929 Boston Post Road, Guilford, CT 06437.Calling hours will be on Saturday, December 29th from 3-5 p.m. at Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main Street, Newtown. Interment will be private at a later date.
