Obituary: Erich Heinz Dinnan, 29, of Newtown

Erich graduated from Newtown High School in 2007. He was a free spirit who has traveled and lived across the country.

NEWTOWN, CT -- Erich Heinz Dinnan, 29, formerly of Newtown, the beloved son of Jay and Petra Dinnan, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, June 3, 2018. He was born in Stamford and raised in Newtown.

Erich graduated from Newtown High School in 2007. He was a free spirit who has traveled and lived across the country, making many friends along the way. Erich found peace in Colorado, where he always longed to return. Erich loved life, and was loyal to his family and friends, whom he treated with respect, compassion, kindness and sincerity. Erich loved music and the outdoors, often combining the two. He enjoyed snowboarding and fishing, and had a love for animals. He was the first in line to help family and friends.

In addition to his parents, Erich is survived by his loving sisters, Terra Ulrich – Hiple and her husband, Jason Hiple of Bolivar, OH and Samantha Dinnan and her husband, Michael Connor of London, England. He will also be dearly missed by his paternal grandparents, Joseph and Lois Dinnan of Dennis, MA; his nephew and nieces, Trenton, Darrian and Jaidenn Hiple; Petra’s brother Michael Koenig of Sudbury, MA, and Jay’s sibling’s Julie Dinnan, of South Hadley, MA, Chris Dinnan of Daytona Beach, FL, Terry Dinnan of Dennis, MA, and Jeff Dinnan of Stamford, as well as all of his cousins. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Heinz Erich and Hildegard Koenig.

Erich’s life will be celebrated on June 8 at 12:00 p.m. at Christ the King Lutheran Church in Newtown. All other services are private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Erich’s memory to: The Newtown Parent Connection, PO Box 187, Newtown, CT 06470. Erich, shine on like the star you are, we know you will always be here with us. You will be deeply missed by all, until we meet again.
