Obituary: Erin Lea Heneghan, 47, Lifelong Resident Of Newtown

NEWTOWN, CT — Erin Lea Heneghan, 47, a lifelong resident of Newtown, passed away suddenly on Nov. 21, 2023, resulting from an auto accident. Erin was born on Aug. 19, 1976 in Danbury, and is survived by her parents, Joseph Heneghan of Waterbury, and Suzanne Heneghan of Cary, NC, her fiancé Tim Donnelly of Newtown, her three sons Kyle Robertson of Newtown, Adam Robertson of Park City, Utah, Jered Robertson of Northfield, VT, many aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and her beloved cat, Vinny.

Erin was a passionate and dedicated advocate for natural health and wellness, self-expression, and individual liberty. In summertime, she lovingly tended her incredible garden for herself and others to enjoy. Erin had a kind, light-hearted, fun-loving spirit and cherished nature and animals of all kinds. She always loved to share a smile, a hug, or a good laugh with anyone she met.

She was a dedicated mother to her sons and because of their love of the sport, she helped to facilitate the creation of the Newtown Skate Park some years ago. For many years, she and her sons frequented Vermont, enjoying snowboarding, skiing, and mountain biking. Erin and her fiancé Tim, have spent numerous hours sailing to various destinations from Maine to the Caribbean enjoying the great outdoors with all its beauty and splendor.

Erin was the director of Marketing & Finance at Seymour I. Hollander Apartments in Bridgeport for the past 22 years, and was a former Board member of Nunnawauk Meadows in Newtown. She recently expanded her horizons by becoming a local real estate agent.

Friends may call Wednesday, Dec. 20, 2023 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., at the Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main Street, Newtown, with a celebration of life including words of remembrance to follow between 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. To celebrate, please feel free to wear white, purple, or any happy color other than black. In lieu of flowers, Erin would be proud if you would dedicate a donation or your energy towards a charity or other passion of your choice.
