Obituary: Jo-Ann Mary (Pelletier) Sumple, 81, Of Newtown

NEWTOWN, CT — Jo-Ann Mary (Pelletier) Sumple, 81, of Newtown, passed away peacefully in her home after fighting a courageous battle with ovarian cancer.

Jo-Ann was born on April 11, 1942 to Ernest and Alma (Borghi) Pelletier in Bridgeport.

She graduated from Milford High School in 1960. She received a certificate in the Practical Nurse Education Program from Henry Abbott Regional Vocational-Technical School in 1986.

She worked as an LPN for the State of Connecticut, including Fairfield Hills Hospital and the Greater Bridgeport Community Mental Health Center, for more than 20 years.

Jo-Ann is predeceased by her parents and sister, Linda. She is survived by her sister, Barbara, her five children Tracey, Paula, David, Stephen (Pam), and Michael and nine grandchildren Brianna, Emily, Kalie, Thomas, Madelyn, Emma, Jake, Will, and Jack.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the charity of your choice.

Calling hours will be held from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. and Family remembrance will be held from 1-2 p.m. on Saturday, August 19 at Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main St. Newtown.
