Obituary: Joan "Jini" M. (Moran) Schneider, 78, of Sandy Hook

SANDY HOOK, CT — Joan "Jini" M. (Moran) Schneider, age 78 of Sandy Hook, beloved wife of Ronald J. Schneider passed away peacefully Saturday, October 6th, 2018.

Jini was born in Bridgeport, March 21st, 1940 to the late Eileen and Michael Moran. She graduated from Warren Harding High School in 1957. Jini worked for 20 plus years at the Newtown High School nurse's office.

In addition to her husband of 54 years, she is survived by her son David of Easton, CT and her son Michael and his wife, Hilary, of Brunswick, Maine and her grandchildren Kaden and Eli; along with several beloved nieces and nephews. She had been predeceased by her three brothers, Jack Moran, Edward Moran, Donald Moran and her sister Marjorie Michalek.

Jini was an extremely caring and loving wife, mother and grandmother, who devoted her life to caring for her family. She cherished time spent with her loved ones, especially her two grandsons who brought her immense joy. She was also a staple in the neighborhood enjoying daily early morning walks with her good friends.

Friends are invited to attend the funeral Thursday, October 11th, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in St. Rose of Lima Church, 46 Church Hill Road, Newtown, with a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment to follow in Newtown Village Cemetery. Friends may call on Wednesday October 10th, 2018 from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. in the Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main St., Newtown.
