Obituary: John "Jack" Villane, Sr., 84, of Newtown

He owned and operated the Stony Hill Barbershop and was lovingly known by many as "Jack the Clipper."

NEWTOWN, CT — John "Jack" Villane, Sr., 84, of Newtown, beloved husband of Louise (Mazza) Villane, died on September 17, 2018 at Newtown Health and Rehabilitation Center. He was born in Danbury on April 13, 1934, son of the late William Sr. and May Villane.

He owned and operated the Stony Hill Barbershop and was lovingly known by many as "Jack the Clipper." He was a Veteran of the U.S. Navy and recipient of the National Defense Service Medal, Navy Occupation Service Medal, and Good Conduct Medal. He was a past member of the Stony Hill Volunteer Fire Department. Jack enjoyed spending time with his family, camping and boating.

In addition to his cherished wife of 59 years, Louise, he will be sadly missed by his four children Pamela Hannequin (Neil), Jacqueline Villane, John H. Villane II (Angie) and Rachael Villane. He is also survived by nine grandchildren, four great grandchildren, and his sister Evelyn O'Neil (Arthur).He was predeceased by a brother, William. Family and friends will be received at the Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White Street, Danbury, on Thursday, September 20th between the hours of 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be at the funeral home on Friday, September 21 at 10:00 a.m. with burial to follow in St. Peter Cemetery.To place light candle, please visit www.cornellmemorial.com
