Obituary: John Johnson, 86, Of Newtown

NEWTOWN, CT — John Johnson, 86, passed away on June 15, 2022 after several years of declining health. His wife, Janet Morgan Johnson survives him.

John was born in Bridgeport to John and Mary Guskie Johnson of Newtown. He spent the majority of his life in Newtown and worked as a heavy equipment operator for E. Paul Kovacs & Co. and several other construction contractors before opening his own excavating business, John Johnson & Sons Inc. in 1985.

John is survived by four sons, John A (Roberta) Johnson, Richard (Debbie) Robinson, Steven Johnson, Allen (Evelyn) Johnson, and two daughters, Joan Johnson and Linda (Rodger) Connor. Also surviving are fifteen grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.Calling hours will be at Honan Funeral Home, Main Street, Newtown, on Wednesday, June 29, 2022 at 11:30 a.m. before the service at 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow immediately after the service at Elmwood Cemetery, Rte. 302, Bethel.
